Both models of the Xiaomi’s full-screen smartphones were designed by a titan in the world of product design, Philippe Starck. Actually, he has done a great job, because both phones look amazing. Moreover, they are pioneers in the market. They’ve been designed so well that became an inspiration for many companies. A few days back the company announced a special variant of its current flagship, the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 Starck Edition. There are only 3000 units priced at 4999 yuan ($757) available for purchase, and most likely you are not among those who have ordered this phone. So this is a unique chance to take a glance at the phone and learn the differences in comparison to the regular model.
Like the white version of the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2, this one comes with an all-ceramic body as well. But it’s in black. As it uses a unibody ceramic housing, the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 Starck Edition also adopts a seamless design. The body of this version goes through a number of tests to ensure that the device meets the desired standard. Say, it is put through a temperature test of up to 1400°C and then a strength test of up to 240 tons. There is also Starck’s signature imprinted on the back.
