The rugged smartphones are changing their face. If previously these devices look ugly but provide resistance to any danger, now they look stylish and sport decent hardware. The best example of this is the Vernee Active that has been designed especially for active folk. This is the first rugged smartphone of the company that is known for its well-looking devices. But what’s more interesting this is the world’s first rugged smartphone with a 3D curved display.
At first sight, the Vernee Active looks too pretty to be a rugged handset. As said, it sports a 3D curved design, which makes it even harder provide tough, waterproof, dustproof, and drop resistant features. We guess the designers have suffered a lot to find out how all these features bring to a 3D design. Anyway, Vernee has announced the Active comes with an IP68 certificate, which simply means it can be left 1.5 m underwater for 30 minutes. Plus, it’s 99% dustproof. Kevlar is used on the back cover, upgrading it to military level protection. It is very durable and scratch-proof.
As for the specs list, the Vernee Active sports a 5.5-inch Full HD JDI InCell display, a MediaTek Helio P25 octa-core SoC clocked at 2.6GHz, 6GB of RAM, 128GB of ROM, 4200mAh battery, 13MP Sony IMX258 sensor on the back, 8MP shooter on the front, manufacturer’s own VOS 1.0 OS based on Android 7.0, USB Type-C, charger head supporting 9V/2A power, support for 28 global 4G LTE bands, and NFC support.
As you see, the Vernee Active sports quite respectable features. Many mid-range smartphones are packed with weaker specs. So the Vernee Active is really going to make a tough competition for many brands and models. Of course, it doesn’t sport the trendiest full-screen and dual-camera features, but the Active can be described as a fashionable phone with powerful hardware.
