A couple of days back, Hammer Technology held a conference and officially announced the Smartisan Nut 3. This has been a buzzword for a long time. And now when it is out, we can get our hands on it and assess its beauty. Not in vain, the latest Smartisan smartphones are considered to be among the most stylish models. They do not look like other handsets. That’s why many customers like it. The Nut 3 is no exception. Though it uses a tri-bezel-less design. No one can say it copies the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S.

It sports a 5.99-inch full-screen with a 2160×1080 resolution and an 18:9 aspect ratio. The top, left and right sides almost have no borders. The speaker is hidden under the display. The Elevoc Elephant Voice provides AI noise reduction technology for it, by the way.
Moreover, the Smartisan Nut 3 uses a rare double-glazed glass + metal frame structure with a body thickness of 7.16mm. Generally, there are three + two variants including the black (with a red line), white (with a gold line), wine, and two Special Edition models (the dazzling black and dazzling red).
We can notice there is a home button. Thus the rear-mounted fingerprint scanner that has been hidden under the logo is now moved to the front. Although the logo is left where it’s been previously. It supports up to 10 fingerprints and unlocks the phone in 0.2 seconds only. Of course, this reader supports fingerprint payment options. But the manufacturer has also added a face recognition option that can scan and identify up to 1024 individual facial features.
The front camera is placed on the chin next to the home button. It has an 8MP resolution and comes with an aperture of f/2.2. It supports ArcSoft technology that comes with a fine-grained real-time beauty algorithm, portrait background blur, and many more.
On the back, the Smartisan Nut 3 sports a horizontally-arranged dual-camera. If you think the arrangement should be vertical, we have to recall Luo Yonghao’s explanation on this occasion. He said the Apple’s iPhone X rearranges the rear dual-camera because the front-facing camera area has a large number of components. So if the back camera is arranged horizontally, it will cause interference. Anyway, this camera comes with two 13MP sensors (color + black and white). They work under the control of the ArcSoft professional algorithm to provide better bokeh effect, professional noise reduction, 0.3 seconds PDAF phase focus support, multiple anti-shake options, TDK video electronic image stabilization, and 4K video recording.
The Smartisan Nut 3 is attractive even in terms of hardware. It is equipped with a mid-range Snapdragon 625 octa-core chip clocked at 2.0GHz. The SoC is paired with an Adreno 506 graphics, 4GB of RAM, 32/64GB of internal storage expandable up to 128GB, and a 4000mAh battery supporting QC3.0 18W fast charge. The latter allows the phone to provide 2.5+ hours of talk time after charged 5 minutes only.
At last, the phone is available in two memory combinations of 4+32GB and 4+64GB. It is priced at 1299 yuan ($205) and 1599 yuan ($253), respectively.
