Most of us recognize brands, not corporations. That’s why you might haven’t heard about the BBK Electronics. This is a Chinese multinational corporation, which owns some popular brands. Only too little people know that BBK Electronics owns OnePlus, Oppo, and Vivo. All three companies have recently launched their full-screen premium flagships. So we are going to compare the OnePlus 5T, Oppo R11s, and Vivo X20 in order to find out which of these awesome devices deserves your money. Moreover, we want to find out which of them is the best if taking into account they all are made by one company, generally
As you can see there are some differences in design, but in general, they look quite identical. Possibly, you can’t comprehend the devices looking at the front side. All three use the double-U-shaped antenna design. The dual-camera layouts are the same. They are placed in the upper left corner. At the back side, the smartphones are identical too. The fingerprint sensors are settled a little upper in the center. They differ only in shape of the fingerprint sensors and the logos below the sensors. They sport bezel-less screens with a very high screen-to-body ratio of up to 80%.
The OP5T comes with 156.1 x 75 x 7.3 mm (6.15 x 2.95 x 0.29 in) and weighs 162g. The Oppo R11s comes with 155.1 x 75.5 x 7.1 mm (6.11 x 2.97 x 0.28 in) and weighs 153g. And the Vivo X20 comes with 155.9 x 75.2 x 7.2 mm (6.14 x 2.96 x 0.28 in) and weights 159g. So they are even similar in terms of dimensions and weight.
Display: Full-Screen is The Selling Point
All of three models are packed with a 6.01-inch AMOLED panel with a resolution of 2160×1080 pixels (Full HD+) and aspect ratio of 18:9. The displays of the phones are protected by the latest Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The former one is equipped with a special display called Optic AMOLED supplied by Samsung.
What is Optic AMOLED? OP has taken Super AMOLED and added their take on contrast and color temperature, to try and bring it truer to life. In addition, they have designed its performance profile to work well when outdoors in bright conditions. So there you go, the Optic AMOLED is essentially a Super AMOLED panel with a custom color profile applied to it.
Performance: High-end Phone Against Mid-range Phones
We are dealing with a high-end phone and two mid-range phones. The OnePlus 5T is equipped with a Qualcomm MSM8998 Snapdragon 835 chip. The phone is available with memory options of 6/8GB RAM and 64/128GB internal storages. The device is considered one of the most powerful smartphones in the world.
The Oppo R11s and the Vivo X20 sport the super mid-range Snapdragon 660 MSM8976 running at 2.2GHz. They are paired with a 4GB RAM and 64/128GB ROM. It is obvious that here the absolute winner is the OnePlus 5T.
Software: Different types of software based on Android 7.1.1
Nowadays, all top brands have made their own software. They all run on Android and have different interfaces. These three phones are no exception. The OnePlus 5T runs on Oxygen OS 4.7 with a new Gallery app allowing users to search for photos based on the places they were captured in.
The Oppo R11s comes with Color OS out of the box. This UI also is capable of unlocking the phone via facial recognition. But there is also an AI component that can recognize and highlight certain parts of your face to make it more beautiful.
The Vivo X20 sports FunTouch OS 3.0. The phone can be unlocked not only by fingerprint sensor but also with the help of Face Wake technology which recognizes the face of the user only in 0.1 secs considering 128 various parameters.
Cameras: Low Light Shooting
Camera lenses not only look similar but also are the same. The OnePlus 5T sports a 16+20MP dual-camera with an aperture of f/1.7. The second sensor is a low light shooter. It is able to take perfect photos in low light conditions. The phone also sports a 16MP selfie camera with an aperture of f/2.0. The Oppo R11s comes with the same rear cameras and the same settings. But it differs from the former one only in selfie camera which is 20.1MP. So there are no differences in shooting experiences of these two.
The Vivo X20 is equipped with a 12.2+5MP dual-camera with an aperture of f/1.8. The device sports 12.2MP selfie camera which is able to take effective portrait photos with the background blur.
Battery: Era of Fast Charge Technologies
The OnePlus 5T is a bit thicker than the rest of presenting phones. The device has on board a 3300mAh battery which also supports Dash Charge technology. It provides a day of heavy use.
The battery of the Oppo R11s is a slightly smaller at 3200mAh. This battery supports Oppo’s own VOOC fast charging technology, which provides the fastest charging of these three smartphones.
At last about the battery of the Vivo X20. It is in the middle having 3250mAh battery. X20 has its own fast charging system.
The OnePlus 5T 64GB variant is offered for $499, while the 128GB variant is available for $559. As for the Oppo R11s, it’s a mid-range handset and should be priced appropriating. It is available for $450. And as the Vivo X20 is a mid-range handset like the Oppo R11s it will be priced around $450. We think the OnePlus 5T is an absolute winner.
