Today Huawei not only announced the much-anticipated Nova 2S with a quad-camera and a full-screen but also came in with an interesting product designed for other purposes. We are talking about the Huawei Smart Body Scale.
Everybody knows that the same weight of fat and muscle look differently. That’s why people with the same weight will look differently as well depending on the fat and muscle ratio. To burn fat and become more athletic you should do exercises. But to monitor your weight correctly you need a smart scale. There are also a few companies launched such products. Today Huawei joined them.
Earlier this year Xiaomi launched its own version of the smart body scale. The Huawei Smart Body Scale comes with identical features. Like its competitor, this body scale works on BIA (Bioelectrical Impedance Technology), which gets 11 types of body data to fully understand the actual condition. Those 11 data include BMI, body weight, fat rate, water rate, basal metabolic rate, body score, visceral fat level, muscle mass, bone salt volume, protein, and body age.
As you see, all those features can be divided into four groups of water, fat, protein, and minerals. These are the most components of a human’s health. The most practical method to measure ration between them is considered to come our way from BIA. The latter sends electrical currents throughout the water in the body and measures the amount of impedance as it travels. Obviously, more water leads to lower impedance. That’s why when two people have the same weight and height won’t look identical because one of them has a higher amount of muscle mass. The latter holds more water than fat cells. So the electrical currents can more easily flow through it. As a result, the impedance data will be lower.
The Huawei Smart Body Scale comes with a large area of tempered glass. It is divided into four parts trough gold lines. Anytime you check out your weight, the data is recorded in the app. Therefore, you can get reports on how your weight has changed. This body scale can be used by a number of users, but it can record data of up to 10 people and provide some helpful reports concerning the efficiency of different exercises. It also comes with an alarm clock function that works like a coach making users exercise on time.
The Huawei Smart Body Scale is priced at 199 yuan ($30), and it’s available for pre-order starting today.
